Tom Truyts is a professor of public economics at the Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles. His research interests include public finance, microsimulation modelling, transport and environmental economics, fiscal federalism and data science. His former research was focussing on game theory, auction theory and economic history. Tom Truyts coordinates the Beamm project, an effort to build an online open-acces comprehensive tax-benefit microsimulation model for Belgium.
Tom Truyts is the director (together with Gilles Grandjean) of the Center for Applied Public Economics (CAPE), co-director of the Institut de Recherches interdisciplinaires sur Bruxelles (IRIB) and a member of the Center for Research in Economics (CEREC), all at the Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles.
